Salisbury Steak Deluxe
SUBMITTED BY:
Denise Barteet
"This recipe is so good that I truly enjoy sharing it with others. I've always liked Salisbury steak, but I had to search a long time to find a recipe this tasty. It's handy, too because it can be prepared ahead, kept in the refrigerator and warmed up later."

Just made this and it was a big hit. As other reviewers did, I omitted the horseradish (only because I didn't have any). I pan fried the patties, removed them, then deglazed the pan with about 1/4 cup of white wine. I then sauteed 1/4 cup of additional chopped onion, and about 2 cups of sliced mushrooms. I then added the patties back to the pan and covered with sauce. The only change I would make next time is to double the sauce! I served over egg noodles. Will definitely make again for a quick weeknight meal.

Very tasty recipe! I only used 1LB. of beef, and kept all other measurements the same. My patties did not fall apart like some of the other reviews said theirs did. Will definately make again!

The sauce in this recipe is delicious (DON'T omit the horseradish!!!!!!!!!!!) - I plan to use it again for stroganoff. I would suggest doubling it if you are planning to eat this with mashed spuds or over noodles. I added more onions, some garlic and subbed beef broth for the water. Also, if you're having trouble with the patties staying together in the pan...try forming them and stuffing them in the fridge for 30 minutes or so before cooking. Thanks.

I have been making this exact recipe for a couple of years now and I love it. My boyfriend always asks me to make it. It's great because he's kind of picky and there's only a few things that he requests me to make over and over!! Thanks so much for sharing this with everyone who's searching for a great Salisbury Steak recipe! :-)

I tried this recipe last night, and it was a great success. Instead of both mustard and horseradish, I used a good horseradish mustard and sauted the leftover onions before adding the patties back to the pan. Next time will double the gravy, though. Already added to the menu rotation!

This was delicous! As others said, double the sauce in order to have enough to put on top of your mashed potatoes!

I followed recipe to the "T", although I did use the scaling down option, and something must have gone wrong in the computers calculations as the patties fell apart in the pan whole browning, by the time I was done with browning and cooking it was globs of meat with gooey sauce with too much Worcester flavor. Again might have been miscalculatons in the conversion that computer does for you. Or might have been me. Either way a major disappointment given the other rave reviews as I was looking forward to the meal.
