Grandma Johnson's Scones

Delicious! I didn't even roll these out, just formed balls, and flattened them with my hand. They are wonderfully soft and crumbly inside. I love the way the baking soda makes the sour cream all fluffy when it sits in the bowl- a great science project for the kids!

Here's my bit of advice. If you do not have a candy thermometer, and this is your first time making candy, do yourself a favor and go get one before you try this! I used the water glass "soft ball" test, but as a first-timer, I was unsure, and missed the perfect stage by a bit and ended up with sugar coated nuts that didn't stick together too well. They are super tasty, though, and I am ready to head out and buy a thermometer so I can try again!

Quick and Easy Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed on Jan. 1, 2009 by Nici
These puffed up way over my muffin tins! They were crisp and flaky on the outside, with a soft layer inside, and completely hollow in the middle! Yummy with jam inside! Ours did turn out a bit "eggy" tasting- I will try these again with freshly bought eggs, and see if that affects the flavor. It wasn't a bad flavor, but from the reviews, I got the impression that these aren't supposed to taste like egg??
